The Power of a Good Friend

My life has been changed for the better. I had been slowly descending into a bender… my kind of bender, involving extreme time wasting on screen. I was becoming less and less productive and didn’t know how to turn it around.

Then one night I had a conversation with a friend. She was cheerful, positive, encouraging. She listened. She drew me up unconsciously closer to her level.

After that conversation I made better decisions, accomplished things and kept distraction to a realistic recreational level.

Make friends with people who are good for you. Be a good friend. Change a life.

  1. If you don’t mind me asking, just wondering what were the kind of things your friend said that helped motivate you to such an extent? Am in a bit of a motivational slump at the moment…

    1. I would say it was more her positive attitude, goodness and belief in me that got me back on my feet. In the absence of such good friends perhaps taking a proper break, a walk or listening to a podcast might help. I enjoy the Cimorelli podcast which is on YouTube. I hope you find some solid motivation soon and don’t beat yourself up unnecessarily. Thanks for reading my blogpost : ).
