A Solution to the World’s Problems

Poverty, abuse, misuse of the planet. Big business, cheap labour, expensive housing. Plastic, instant, disposable. The want for more money, more things. What else is there… if there is no God, no life after this one, why should we not pursue the goods of this life without a care or perhaps with all our care.

What if we put God back into the equation and a justice meted out in a never-ending afterlife? We may have all the money in the world, all the cars, boats and houses and then suffer for an eternity. It’s not a sound investment. If we put our efforts into loving God and our neighbour and meriting an everlasting joy, even if it means suffering for 100 years, that is worthwhile.

Happiness is what we all seek. Yet in spite of the clichéd knowledge that money can’t buy happiness we continue to throw ourselves into the pursuit of money and the things it brings. We are cynical about many things but have not learnt cynicism when it comes to wealth or possessions.

One of the many advantages of the God solution to the problems of the world is that we don’t need to wait for the authorities to begin the fixing. We can start in our small corners, light our little lamps, enlighten our little lives and become a beacon for those around us. In time and with God’s grace we can take over the world.

Merry Christmas and thank you to my readers.
